COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

At Scotiabank Centre, we believe live experiences have the power to connect people, spark inspiration, and strengthen communities. Through our community programs, such as the Community Ticket Program, we extend the impact of the events we host beyond the walls of our venues—creating opportunities for Nova Scotians to participate, celebrate local culture, and support organizations making a difference across the province.

The Community Ticket Program uses two streams to connect people and support communities across Nova Scotia.

COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM - ACCESS STREAM

Hockey Game at Scotiabank Centre

Status: Partner allocations for this season 2025/26 are now complete.

If your organization supports underrepresented communities in and around Halifax, and you’d like to be considered as a ticket program partner in the future, please contact us via form below.

Purpose: Opening access to live experiences. We work with select community partners this season — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax, Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), Kids Up Front Atlantic, Prescott Group and Special Olympics Nova Scotia — to put tickets directly into the hands of Nova Scotians while helping spark new passions, nurture emerging talent, and build lasting interest in local sports and culture.

How it works:

  1. Events East confirms annual community partners based on reach, capacity, and our goal of ensuring our event spaces and experiences are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all.
  2. Partners receive ticket allocations during the event season.
  3. Partners distribute tickets directly to their members/clients.

Supported Communities: Select non-profit organizations for children, youth, newcomers, equity-deserving groups, community-serving and similar organizations in Nova Scotia.

COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM - FUNDRAISING STREAM

Halifax Thunderbirds Home Opener

Status: Open for ticket requests from eligible organizations.

Purpose: Fueling fundraising through tickets. We support registered charities, non-profits and grassroots organizations across Nova Scotia by donating event tickets — as available — so they can use them for auctions, raffles, prize packages and other fundraising activities.

Who can apply: Registered charities and non-profit community groups raising funds in Nova Scotia.

What can be requested: Up to two tickets to events taking place at Scotiabank Centre, subject to availability.

COVID-19 Preparedness

With the ongoing concerns around COVID-19 and the recommendation from the Province of Nova Scotia to restrict public gatherings, the Scotiabank Centre is closed to events and public access until further notice. This is an unprecedented circumstance that impacts our employees and customers and we are actively working to support them during this time. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
