
Code of Conduct
Purpose
At Scotiabank Centre, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all event attendees. We uphold the dignity and rights of every individual and do not tolerate behaviour that compromises safety, disrupts events, or creates an unwelcome atmosphere.
This Code of Conduct aligns with our attendee experience commitment, applicable venue policies, and the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act. In addition to this Code of Conduct, attendees must comply with any event-specific codes of conduct set by teams, leagues, or promoters, as well as any other venue policies established by Scotiabank Centre.
By attending an event at Scotiabank Centre, attendees agree to adhere to these expectations.
Policy
All attendees at Scotiabank Centre are expected to behave in a manner that ensures a safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment for everyone.
To maintain this standard, we reserve the right to take appropriate action—including denial of entry or removal from the venue—against any individual whose conduct violates this Code of Conduct, applicable laws, or venue policies. These decisions are made solely at the discretion of Scotiabank Centre management to protect the experience of all attendees, and refusal to comply may result in further consequences.
As an attendee at Scotiabank Centre, you may not:
- Exhibit unruly, disruptive, or unsafe behavior that, in the sole discretion of venue management, jeopardizes the safety or enjoyment of others. This includes, but is not limited to, refusal to follow reasonable instructions related to safety and venue policies, throwing objects, loud disturbances, interfering with an event, or intoxication.
- Any attendee who appears intoxicated upon arrival will be denied access—at the sole discretion of Scotiabank Centre management.
- If an attendee is identified as intoxicated while inside the venue, staff will immediately stop alcoholic service and facilitate their removal.
- Engage in harassment, discrimination, or violence, including but not limited to verbal abuse, physical aggression, sexual harassment, or any behavior targeting individuals or groups based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Display or engage in hate speech or the use of hate symbols, including threatening language, signs, symbols, or gestures. Please see Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech in our A-Z Guide for more information.
- Cause damage to the venue or personal property.
- Enter restricted or controlled-access areas without proper authorization, including but not limited to the playing surface, stage, back-of-house areas, and Premium Seating.
- Engage in unauthorized commercial activities or promotions that have not been sanctioned by Scotiabank Centre.
- Possess prohibited, illegal, controlled, or otherwise dangerous items, including but not limited to:
- Weapons, firearms, or items that could be used as weapons
- Illegal substances or drugs
- Outside alcohol or any other restricted substances
- Any other items listed in our A-Z Guide
- Items prohibited by promoters or event organizers
- Engage in activities prohibited by Scotiabank Centre, including but not limited to:
- Smoking or using vaping devices (including e-cigarettes and vaporizers)
- Use of air horns, laser pointers, or other disruptive devices
- Displaying signs or banners that obstruct views, contain offensive language, or contain any other verbiage deemed inappropriate by teams, leagues, promoters or Scotiabank Centre

Consequences of Violating This Code of Conduct
Scotiabank Centre reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to any violation of this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply will result in consequences, determined at the sole discretion of Scotiabank Centre and are final. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Verbal warnings
- Immediate ejection from the venue without refund
- Suspension of entry privileges for future events, whether or not a warning is issued
Any attendee who is ejected will have their ticket(s) revoked and will not receive compensation of any kind.
Reporting and Support Process
Our staff are trained to intervene as needed to ensure a safe and respectful environment; however, attendees are encouraged to report violations of this Code of Conduct or any other inappropriate behavior to the nearest event attendant or security guard. Attendees can also report concerns via text while in the venue to 902-441-5696 or via email at info@eventseast.com.
